Yahangala┃යහන්ගල - Sri Lanka

Yahangala is a very attractive hiking area in Sri Lanka. There are many interesting historical stories associated with Yahangala. This Yahangala is also heard in stories about King Ravana. Yahangala means 'bed rock' in Sinhala.

To reach Yahangala, first take the Kandy - Hasalaka road to Udadumbara and then take the Kalugala road for about 12km.

Distance from Kandy - 60km (1 hour and 50 minutes)

The top of Yahangala is a very flat and large area. Because of that it is a very suitable place to camping. There are no water sources at that location. Therefore, it is essential to carry water with you when camping. There are also many guides in the Kalugala village.
